Test the Key Switch

Genie specifications require that this procedure be
performed every 250 hours or quarterly, whichever
comes first.
Proper key switch action and response is essential
to safe machine operation. The machine can be
operated from the ground or platform controls and
the activation of one or the other is accomplished
with the key switch. Failure of the key switch to
activate the appropriate control panel could cause
a hazardous operating situation.
Note: Perform this procedure from the ground
using the platform controls. Do not stand in the
platform.
1 Pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the
on position at both the ground and platform
controls.
2 Turn the key switch to platform control.

(if equipped)
Genie specifications require that this procedure be
performed every 250 hours or quarterly, whichever
comes first.
The horn is activated at the platform controls and
sounds at the ground as a warning to ground
personnel. An improperly functioning horn will
prevent the operator from alerting ground
personnel of hazards or unsafe conditions.
1 Turn the key switch to platform control and
pull out the red Emergency Stop button to the
on position at both the ground and
platform controls.
2 Push down the horn button at the platform
controls.
Result: The horn should sound.
