and the CHARA GEN IC (IC5005).
Check the output video waveform of the
DECM Assy
SD VIDEO ENCODER IC (IC5002-pin 35.)
DECM Assy If any of the above cases is not applicable.
Point to be checked
Check the wiring for the peripheral circuits
of the HD VIDEO ENCODER IC (IC5007)
DECM Assy
and the VIDEO AMP IC (IC5008).
DECM Assy Check the HDMI output.
DECM Assy If any of the above cases is not applicable.

the abnormal signal line.

Measures to be taken
Check the wiring on the signal line.
Eliminate any improper wiring by soldering.
If no output waveform is detected, the SD VIDEO
ENCODER IC is defective. Replace the IC5002 or
the DECM Assy. If an output waveform is detected,
the CHARA GEN IC is defective. Replace the IC5005
or the DECM Assy.
Replace the DECM Assy.
Measures to be taken
Check the wiring on the signal line.
Eliminate any improper wiring by soldering.
If an HDMI output is detected, the HD VIDEO
ENCODER IC or VIDEO AMP IC is defective.
Check the output video waveforms at the following
pins of the HD VIDEO ENCODER IC (IC5007).
1 IC5007 pin 14 (Y), 2 IC5007 pin 16 (Pb),
3 IC5007 pin 18 (Pr)
If the output is detected, replace the IC5008 or the
DECM Assy.

If no output is detected, replace the IC5007 or the

Replace the DECM Assy.
Measures to be taken
Check the wiring on the signal line.
Eliminate any improper wiring by soldering.
If a component video output is detected, the HDMI IC is
defective. Replace the IC4003 or the DECM Assy.
Replace the DECM Assy.
Measures to be taken
Check the wiring on the signal line.
Eliminate any improper wiring by soldering.
Check the Y, Pb, and Pr waveforms at JA5002 and
perform the subsequent checks in sequence.
IC5008 input check points:
1 pin 10 (Y), 2 pin 14 (Pb), 3 pin 16 (Pr)
If the IC5008 input waveforms on the abnormal signal
lines are normal, replace the IC5008 or the DECM Assy.
If any IC5008 input waveform is abnormal, proceed to
No.4.

IC5007 output check points:
1 pin 14(Y), 2 pin 16(Pb), 3 pin 18 (Pr)
.
If the IC5007 output waveforms are normal, replace the
following transistors on the specified line or the DECM
Assy. 1 Q5005 (Y), 2 Q5006 (Pb), 3 Q5006 (Pr)
If any IC5007 output waveform is abnormal, proceed to
No.5.
