Assigning printers to a device so one doesn't have to be picked all the time
If you always want to print a customer copy or kitchen copy to the same printer, or always print a
closed copy to the same printer, it can grow tedious to have to select the same printer each time. In
that case, what you can do is assign printers to a device so it always prints to that printer.
To do so, tap on Management, then Settings. Find the Devices section, and tap on the name of the
device that you want to assign a printer to, and then tap "add _____ printer", whichever is appropriate
for what you want to force printing to, and then select the printer you want to force printing to.
Printing checks or opening drawers whenever a check is closed
If you want to force your employees to print a closed copy of a check every time an Order is closed,
you can go to Management, then Settings, then select "Yes" for "print check on close?" Now,
whenever an Order is closed, employees will be prompted to select a printer to print a check to.
If you want to open a cash drawer whenever an Order is closed, then select "Yes" for "open drawer on
close?" Now, whatever printer the closed check is printed to, any cash drawers/buzzers attached will
open/fire.
The options below apply only to kitchen receipts (i.e. receipts printed by tapping "Send" while adding
items, or by selecting "Print kitchen copy" from the action button for an Order.
If you select "Yes" for "kitchen: item notes in red?", then any kitchen receipts printed to an impact
printer (ex. U220B) will use red ink for options/notes for items, which highlights for your cooks exactly
what they need to keep in mind while preparing the item.
If you select "Yes" for "kitchen: print wide?", then any kitchen receipts printed to this printer use a
"double wide" font for easier visibility.
If you select "Yes" for "kitchen: dashes between items?", then any kitchen receipts printed to this
printer have a line of dashes printed between individual items, making it easier for the cooks to read
the receipt quickly.
