INSTALLATION WITH CABLE
Connecting the monitor with a cable to the car's power source.
1.
Read the manufacturer's operating instructions before trying to install the monitor, so that neither the vehicle's computer system nor other
important operating systems are interfered with. Before using the cable set, it is highly recommended to consult with a car mechanic, or to have
the installation completed professionally by a car mechanic.
ATTENTION: The supplier is not liable for any damage to the car which is due to improper installation or operation.
2.
Use the included monitor cable for mounting.
3.
Choose a suitable course for the cable leading from the selected mounting location to the vehicle's fuse box.
4.
Disconnect car battery.
5.
Look for the accessory clamp 12V+ in the vehicle's fuse box. This clamp will only deliver power if the ignition key is set to first position in the
ignition lock.
6.
Connect the cable's red wire to this clamp.
7.
Connect the cable's black wire to earth.
8.
OPTION: Pull the cable's blue wire and connect to positive cable of rear lamp. This serves as a break and provides power for the monitor
when the car is set to reverse.
CHECK POINT:
At this point, you can check whether you have connected the wires correctly, by:
-
connecting the battery again
-
turning the ignition key in the ignition lock to first position.
-
connecting the monitor cable to the monitor
-
pressing the monitor's ON/OFF button and waiting to see if the monitor is switched on.
If the camera has not yet been installed, then you will only see a blank screen/video noise. Before continuing with the installation, disconnect the
vehicle's battery.
9.
Look for the 12V+-cable for the car's rear lamp(s). Please read the manufacturer's operating instructions for further information, or consult the
vehicle's circuit diagram. This cable leads from a switch in the gearbox to the rear lamps.
10.
Connect the cable's blue wire with the rear lamps' 12V+ cables via the included Scotchlok® (cf. "Use of Scotchlok"®).
11.
The monitor is automatically turned ON when the gear is put into reverse, and OFF when the gear is not set to reverse.
Please read the operating instructions of the 3.5" LCD monitor for further information on the monitor controls.
