Option Settings
6.4.1
Introduction
The microprocessor communicates with a large number of I
IC's in the set. To ensure good communication and to allow
digital diagnosis, the microprocessor must know which IC's it
has to address.
Notes:
•
After changing the option number(s), save them by
pressing the "OK" button on the RC before moving the
cursor to the left, then select "STORE" in the SAM root
menu and press "OK" on the RC.
•
The new option setting is only active after the TV-set is
switched "off" or "standby" with the mains switch and "on"
again (only then the NVM is again read).

Option Code Overview
Refer to the rear cover sticker in the set for the correct option
codes.
6.4.3
Setting Option Numbers
Select this sub menu to set all options.
An option number is a long numerical string that represents a
number of different options. You only have to change the two
option numbers to quickly set all the options.
You find them on the rear cover sticker of the TV-set:
•
First line: Group 1, indicating hardware options 1 to 4.
e.g. "08192 00133 01387 45160",
•
Second line: Group 2, indicating software options 5 to 8.
e.g. "12232 04256 00164 00000".
Every 5-digit number has 16 bits, so the maximum value is
65536 if all options are set.
When all the options are correctly set, the sum of the decimal
values of each Option Byte (OB) is the option number.
When the NVM is replaced, you must reset both option number
lines (all options) to assure correct factory settings.
Diversity
Not all sets with the same Commercial Type Number (CTN)
necessarily have the same option code!
Use of Alternative BOM => an alternative BOM number usually
indicates the use of an alternative display or power supply. This
results in another display code thus in another Option code.
Refer to Chapter
2. Technical Specs, Diversity, and
Connections.
