Note: You can customize port
mappings for AC8XX, MC8775,
MC8775V, MC8780, and
MC8781 in non-MUX mode
using the AT!NVPORTMAP
command. For details, see the
MC87xx Modem Extended AT
Command Reference

Rev 1.9 Sep.08
Note: The modem's default shipping configuration may include NMEA
support. For those modems that support NMEA, the default NMEA
channel is on for MC5725 / MC5725V / MC5727, and off for all others.
This channel is used to transfer GPS receiver data (NMEA‐0183
formatted 'sentences') between the module and the host for
use in Location‐Based Services (LBS) applications.

(Additional PPP)
(AC8XX  /   C 8XX  /   M C87XX only)
The Data 1, Data 2, and Data 3 data channels are implemented
on the AC8XX  /   C 8XX  /   M C87XX as follows:
Data 1—In MUX mode, the data is transported using
DLCI‐5. In non‐MUX mode, the data is transported using
the following endpoints:
C8XX, MC8785V, MC8790, MC8790V, MC8791V,
·
MC8792V
control of the host
·
All other modules  —   2 ‐IN and 2‐OUT, and endpoint 1‐IN for
flow control of the host
.
Note: (All modules except C885, MC8785V, MC8790, MC8790V,
MC8791V, MC8792V) For non-MUX mode, the recommended config-
uration of endpoints 2 and 5 is: 2-IN / 2-OUT (Data 1), and 5-IN /
5-OUT (AT). AirCard modems may need to be reconfigured using
AT!NVPORTMAP.
Data 2 and Data 3—These channels are only supported in
MUX mode. The modules use DLCI‐6 and DLCI‐7 for each
of these data channels.
These channels are used to establish additional data connec‐
tions to the remote network. These connections may have one
or more of the following properties:
A different quality of service than the other connections
A different APN (Access Point Name)
Limitations of these channels include:
ATDT and ATI are the only supported AT commands
