Mini Card / AirCard / Compass USB Driver Developer's Guide
Note: You can customize port
mappings for AC8XX, MC8775,
MC8775V, MC8780, and
MC8781 in non-MUX mode
using the AT!NVPORTMAP
command. For details, see the
MC87xx Modem Extended AT
Command Reference
(Document 2130616).

Note: The default non-MUX data service (on endpoints 4-IN and
4-OUT) is HIP (carrying CnS and DM) for AC59X, C59X, and
MC572X. The default can be changed, if required, to DM, HIP
(carrying CnS), or HIP (carrying CnS and DM). Contact Sierra
Wireless for details.

mode, the data is transported between the host and module
by embedding it in HIP messages (see
Protocol)
, page 34) over endpoints 4‐IN and 4‐OUT. In MUX
mode, the modules use DLCI‐2 to transport the data.

non‐MUX mode, these modules can be configured to
transport DM using endpoints 2‐IN and 2‐OUT. In MUX
mode, the modules use DLCI‐2 to transport the data.
The QUALCOMM DM logging data provides information
about the operation of the wireless protocol stack, and other
diagnostic information for firmware developers. It can be used
for configuration, logging, testing, and debugging of the
embedded module.
For details on implementing protocol stack logging to access
QUALCOMM DM information, refer to MC87xx Modem CnS
Reference (Document 2130602).

Electronics Association)
The NMEA data channel is implemented on the following

use endpoints 5‐IN and 5‐OUT to transport the data. In
MUX mode and hybrid‐MUX mode, they use DLCI‐4 for
the data.

modules use DLCI‐4 to transport NMEA data. In non‐MUX
mode, these modules (except AC875, AC875U, MC8775V)
use endpoints 3‐IN and 3‐OUT to transport the data if GPS
is enabled, the modem is not in boot‐and‐hold mode, and
the firmware revision is F1_2_x_x or higher.

non‐MUX mode, these modules use endpoints 3‐IN and
3‐OUT to transport the data. In MUX mode, they use
DLCI‐4 to transport for the data.
