Button Assignments

Button Assignments
Certain buttons can be assigned specifi c roles for movie live view.
The D800/D800E The D800/D800E
The Fn, depth-of-fi eld preview, and A buttons can be assigned functions for movie live view.
A CUSTOM SETTING MENU > g Movie > g1 Assign Fn button
A CUSTOM SETTING MENU > g Movie > g2 Assign preview button
A CUSTOM SETTING MENU > g Movie > g3 Assign AE-L/AE-L button

Select a custom setting.
Press G to display the menus,
then highlight g1 Assign Fn but-
ton, g2 Assign preview button, or
g3 Assign AE-L/AF-L button in the
Custom Settings menu and press

below and press J.

Aperture widens while the button is pressed.
Use in combination with Custom Setting g2
(Assign preview button) > Power aper-
ture (close) for button-controlled aperture
adjustment.
Press the button during movie recording to
add an index at the current position. Indices
can be used when viewing and editing mov-
ies.
Press the button to display information on
shutter speed, aperture, and other photo set-
tings in place of movie recording information.
Press again to return to the movie recording
display.
Pressing the button has no eff ect.
