SEQUENTIAL ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION (SEFI)

Connect the negative battery cable, then turn the ignition ON and OFF several

times, without starting the engine, to pressurize the fuel system.

Start and run the engine, then check for leaks.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the fuel tank filler cap to release the fuel tank pressure, then properly

relieve the fuel system pressure. There is a fuel pressure relief valve located on

the fuel injection supply manifold for this purpose. For more details, please refer

to the procedure located earlier in this section.

Remove the upper intake manifold. For details regarding this procedure, please

refer to the intake manifold removal procedure located in Section 3 of this manual.

Remove the spring lock coupling fittings from the fuel inlet and return fittings. For

details, please refer to the procedure located later in this section.

Using Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool D87L-9280-A (

in.) or equivalent, disconnect the inlet and outlet fuel lines from the fuel

injection supply manifold.

Remove the four fuel injection supply manifold retaining bolts. There are two on

each side. Remove the fuel pressure regulator bracket retaining bolt from the

cylinder head.

It may be easier to remove the fuel injectors with the fuel injection

supply manifold as an assembly.

Carefully disengage the fuel injection supply manifold from the fuel injectors, then

remove the fuel injection supply manifold.
