The connection for the primary console terminal is on the control panel on the
front of the machine. This connection is shown for the leftmost terminal in
Figure 1–1 on page 1-1 of this manual. You may also have a KFE70 or KFE72-
EA adapter connected to the TLSB I/O module in slot 8 to provide floppy
support on the front of the cabinet (see Figure 2–9). This is optional, however.
In addition, you must have one KFE72-DA adapter for each partition beyond
partition 0, each installed in a separate DWLPB PCI card cage. The KFE72-DA
adapter consists of three modules installed in slots 0, 1, and 2 of the PCI card
cage. See the KFE72 Installation Guide (EK-KFE72-01) for instructions on how
to install KFE72-DA adapters.
The secondary console terminals for additional partitions are connected to the
COM1 port of center module of each KFE72-DA adapter, in slot 1 of the PCI
card cage, as shown in Figure 2–8. Note in Figure 1–1 how the cord for the
rightmost (secondary) console terminal goes to the rear of the machine, where
the connector for this terminal is located on the KFE72-DA adapter.
See the DWLPA/DWLPB PCI PIU Installation Guide for instructions on how to
install a KFE70 adapter, and the KFE72 Installation Guide for instructions on
how to install any KFE72 adapter.
The primary and secondary console devices can be a character-cell video
terminal or serial line connection to another system or terminal concentrator.
Supported graphics devices can be used by the operating system's windowing
software on any partition.
