Alarms

All Alarms are of a high priority and are indicated by a combination of flashing red beacon, an audible alarm and a message on the
display .

Door was opened during an infusion .
SYSTEM FAULT
FLOW ERROR
No drops have been detected during an
infusion (empty container) .
Excessive increase or decrease of fluid
flow detected by flow sensor .
Flow sensor attached to secondary

FLOW SENSOR CONNECTION ERROR
Flow sensor connected / disconnected
during an infusion .
Flow sensor is not connected and the
primary VTBI is OFF .

Action
See 'Clearing Air-In-Line' .
Remove the occlusion / air and restart the infusion by pressing
the
d
button .
To silence the alarm connect the Pump to AC power .
Restart operation on AC power to charge the internal battery .
Close the door and restart the infusion .
Switch Pump off .
Remove Pump from service and have the Pump inspected by
Qualified Service Personnel .
Clamp the tubing to stop fluid flow .
Ensure that the infusion set tubing is properly loaded in the
pumping channel following the flow direction label .
Ensure that ample fluid is in the fluid container .
Check for blockage / occlusion in infusion set .
After the tubing is properly inserted, close the Pump door and
resume infusion .
Ensure flow sensor is attached to the primary infusion set .
Restart the infusion with the flow sensor connected /
disconnected, as required .
Connect flow sensor or set a VTBI and re-start the infusion .
Ensure fluid in the drip chamber is not above the fill line .
Remove pressure in the infusion set to prevent a post
occlusion bolus to the patient .
Remove the cause of the blockage .
Restart the infusion .
Remove the infusion set and load the correct or new set (see
'Compatible Dedicated Infusion Sets') .
Clear air from set . (Refer to 'Clearing Air-In-Line' section)
Release clamp and restart .
Reload set with Pump at least 30cm from the Y-site .
Set new VTBI .
Connect Pump to an AC power source .
Attend to Pump . Press
