"3100i" MODEM SETTINGS
Press the up or down arrow by the "3100i" display until you see the "MODEM
BAUDRATE" menu. See basic unit manual chapter 2 !
Press OK to see the menu "SET BAUDRATE". Select desired baud rate using
up or down arrow and end off by OK:ing. The menu should indicate selected
baud rate under the caption "MODEM BAUDRATE".
There are four commands that set up the "3100i" for modem control. See also
the "Command Manual".
The command INITANSWER supplies the string that initialises the modem as
the first ring signal arrives.
ANSWER will supply the string to be sent to the modem to make it answer the
call. DIAL" supplies the commands that are to be performed at an alarm
situation.
RING is a command that programs how many rings that must arrive before the
call is answered.
The commands have the following default settings (BPA_0226.LDM or later):
INITANSWER
ANSWER
RING
DIAL
To set these parameters the "3100i" has to be connected to the computer serial
port and some type of terminal software running.
The following commands are examples and may or may not suit your modem:
INITANSWER:"ATZ!£ATE0!£ATW2S95=2!"
ANSWER:"ATA!"
Settings can be checked by typing:
INITANSWER:?
ANSWER:?
The exclamation mark "!" and pound sign "£" have special functions:
! :There is no normal way to include the [Enter] character in a string. The !
replaces it.
£ : Some MODEMS are not able to receive multiple commands without a
break in between. The £ introduces a 2 second pause.
