    Access Memory (DDR4 SDRAM) is packaged only in 288-pin Dual In-Line Memory Modules (DIMMs). Your CIARA KRONOS 540 uses only DIMM memory modules. Each DIMM module can have a capacity of 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB. The minimum system capacity is 4 GB and the maximum system capacity is 128 GB for 6-core processor and 64 GB for 4-core processor.

This mode offers the highest throughput for real world applications. Quad channel mode is enabled when the installed memory capacities of the four DIMM channels are equal. Technology and device width can vary from one channel to the other but the installed memory capacity for each channel must be equal.

    Please keep your equipment log up to date and include a copy of it whenever your equipment is returned to CIARA for servicing. The equipment log is also helpful if your CIARA workstation is lost, stolen, or damaged.     CIARA KRONOS 540 Workstation 4.3.4 PCI auto configuration The BIOS can automatically configure PCI devices. PCI devices may be onboard or add-in cards. Auto configuration lets a user insert or remove PCI cards without having to configure the system. When a user turns on the system after adding a PCI card, the BIOS automatically configures interrupts, the I/O space, and other system resources.

    4.6.2 Optical drives The CIARA KRONOS 540 may be supplied with a SATA DVD drive. The DVD drive is a half-height 5-¼ inch wide storage device, capable of holding 4.7 to 8.5 Gbytes of data. The system may be equipped with either a DVD-ROM drive, a DVD writer, a Blu-ray drive or Blu- ray writer.

Since this upgrade necessitates a lot of care and attention, it should be carried out by a CIARA authorized service centre. Please take a note that the CIARA KRONOS 540 models use exclusively LGA2066 processor technologies and are not compatible with other types of processors.

    CIARA KRONOS 540 Workstation GLOSSARY 32-Bit -- In computer architecture, 32-bit integers, memory addresses, or other data units are those that are at most 32 bits (4 octets) wide. Also, 32-bit CPU and ALU architectures are those that are based on registers, address buses, or data buses of that size. 32-bit is also a term given to a generation of computers in which 32-bit processors were the norm.
