Before working on your planter or drill
DANGER: when storing or working on the planter always install cylinder stops or place the planter on stands to prevent personal injury or damage to the
Rebounder. WARNING: do not roll back or back up the planter in or on the ground as this can result in damage to the Rebounder.
Mounting Instructions
Before you begin locate the "package contents" list to verify all items are included.
There are 2 options for in furrow application of fertilizer, chemical, or inoculants, see: liquid fertil-
izer attachment mounting instructions for this planter or drill series. Option #1 is a plastic
tube with the Hose Holder Kit, that goes inside the seed boot of the planter. Option #2, is a stain-
less steel tube with the Hose Holder Kit, that goes on the outside of the planter.
Step #1: remove the trailing disc from the IH double disc openers. This will allow access to the
1/4" roll pin inside the seed boot which holds the seed tube in place. On the new
style seed boots the roll pin holes will be approximately 1/4" down from the top edge
(fig. (a)). NOTE: if you previously welded a mounting plate bracket onto the seed
boot, that plate will need to be cut off, this is only necessary for first year IH 1200
planters.
Step #2: using a 1/4" roll pin punch and hammer, remove the roll pin from the
seed boot.
Step #3: insert the welded-in bolt on the bracket into the top hole on the
Rebounder (fig. (b)). Attach whiz nut and tighten with a wrench.
Step #4: slide the Rebounder and bracket up from the bottom of the boot, lining
up the tube, welded to the back of the bracket, with the hole in the seed
boot.
Step #5: replace the roll pin (fig. (d)) through the welded-on tube to hold the
Rebounder in place. Replace the trailing disc and gauge wheel.
Step #6: when finished mounting the Rebounders verify that they are all the same
height. If not, remove the bolt holding the covering disc arm (fig. (c))
and grind the casting where the bolt of the Rebounder hits. Or if neces-
sary, grind down the nut of the Rebounder. NOTE: Some covering disc
castings may not be consistent in diameter on the outside of the bearing casting
(fig. (e)).

PLANTERS.
Important Points to Remember:
- If you find the insecticide tube hits the top of the Rebounder
when the planter is raised, you will need to cut or grind off 1/2"
- 3/4"of the front of the insecticide tube.
