IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Use this unit only as described in this instruction manual. As with all electrical equipment, while the
instructions aim to cover as many problems as possible, caution and common sense should be
applied when operating and installing this unit.
• This unit is designed for home air conditioning and must not be used for other purposes. It is
dangerous to modify or alter the characteristics of the unit in any way.
• The unit must be installed in conformity with national legislation regulating electrical equipment
and installations.
• If the unit requires repair, contact a Service Center authorized by the manufacturer only. Repairs
carried out by unauthorized personnel may be dangerous and will void the warranty. This unit must
be used exclusively by adults.
• Never allow the unit to be used by people (including children) with psychological, physical or
sensory impairments or with insufficient experience and knowledge, unless closely supervised and
instructed by someone responsible for their safety. Young children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the unit.
• The unit must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend
to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a
qualified electrician install a proper receptacle. Have your electrical circuit checked by a
qualified electrician.
• Do not use extension cord or plug adapter.
• Always unplug the unit before cleaning or performing maintenance.
• Unit must be plugged into its own dedicated outlet.
• Never unplug the unit by pulling on the power cord.
• Do not install the unit in rooms containing gas, oil or sulfur. Do not install near heat sources. Keep
the unit at least 20 inches (50 cm) away from flammable substances (alcohol etc) or pressurized
containers (e.g. aerosol cans).
• Do not rest heavy or hot objects on top of the unit.
• Clean the air filter at least once a week (as shown on page 15).
• Avoid using heating units near the air conditioner.
• If the unit has been set on its side, place upright for 24 hours before starting the unit. Always
transport the unit upright or resting on one side. Before moving the appliance, empty the internal
tray completely of water. After moving the unit, wait at least 1 hour before starting it.
• When putting the unit away, do not cover with plastic bags.
• The materials used for packaging can be recycled. You are therefore recommended to dispose of
them in special differentiated waste collection containers.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized technical
service center in order to avoid all risk.
• Properly dispose of the unit according to legal waste codes.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Before plugging the unit into the main socket, check that:
• the main power supply corresponds to the value indicated on the rating plate on the back of
the unit;
• the power socket and electrical circuit are adequate for the unit;
• the main socket matches the plug. If this is not the case, have the plug replaced;
• the main socket is adequately grounded.
