For specific information on the type of gas and the amount, please refer to the relevant label on the unit itself. • Installation, service, maintenance and repair of this unit must be performed by a certified technician. • Product uninstallation and recycling must be performed by a certified technician. • When the unit is checked for leaks, proper record-keeping of all checks is strongly recommended.

    IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Use this unit only as described in this instruction manual. As with all electrical equipment, while the instructions aim to cover as many problems as possible, caution and common sense should be applied when operating and installing this unit. • This unit is designed for home air conditioning and must not be used for other purposes. It is dangerous to modify or alter the characteristics of the unit in any way. • The unit must be installed in conformity with national legislation regulating electrical equipment and installations.

    LCDI POWER CORD & PLUG This air conditioner is equipped with an LCDI (Leakage Current Detection and Interruption) power cord and plug as required by US National Electric Code 440.65. This cord consists of a length of shielded flexible cord with no termination on the load side and a LCDI attachment plug on the line side. The LCDI power cord and plug will remove the supply source via electrical disconnect (circuit trip) if the nominal current leakage between the cord shield and either load conductor exceeds a predetermined value. The cord will remain de-energized until the device has been manually reset. This is intended to reduce the risk of a fire in the power cord or combustible materials nearby. The cord shields are not grounded and they must be considered shock hazards if exposed. The cord shield must not be connected to the ground or to any exposed metal. The test and reset buttons on the LCDI Plug are used to check if the plug is functioning properly. To test, follow the steps below that correspond to the plug on your unit: LCDI POWER CORD &...

    WINDOW KIT PARTS & INSTALLATION PARTS EXHAUST HOSE Exhaust Hose Exhaust Hose Connector Window Kit Adapter Window Kit Adapter Extension WINDOW KIT Window Kit Screws INSTALLATION When the unit is operating in COOL or DRY mode, the unit draws in indoor air and exhausts hot air out of the room to complete the air exchange. When the unit is operating in FAN mode no outdoor air exchange takes place. The window kit and exhaust hose do not need to be installed when the unit is used as a fan or in DRY mode.

  • Page 10 The window kit and exhaust hose must be installed in order for the unit to work correctly in COOL mode and AUTO mode. The window kit and exhaust hose should not be used while the unit is in FAN mode or DRY mode. TIMER Temperature Buttons OPERATING THE CONTROL PANEL The control panel enables you to manage all the main functions of the unit, but to fully utilize the unit’s features, you must use the remote control.
  • Page 12 COOL MODE Ideal for hot muggy weather when you need to cool and dehumidify the room. To properly set this mode: • Make sure the exhaust hose is properly installed. • Press the MODE button until the COOL symbol appears. • Select the target temperature by pressing the buttons until the desired temperature is displayed. • Select the required fan speed by pressing the FAN button.
  • Page 13 FAN MODE When using the unit in this mode, the exhaust hose does not need to be attached. To properly set this mode: • Press the MODE button until the FAN symbol appears. • Select the desired fan speed by pressing the FAN button. Three speeds are available: Low speed: for silent operation Medium speed: reduces noise levels but still maintains a good level of comfort Maximum speed: to achieve the target tempe rature as rapidly as possible NOTE: In this mode AUTO speed cannot be selected.

    TIPS FOR BEST PERFORMANCE To get the most out of your air conditioner, follow these recommendations: • Close all the windows in the room. • Protect the room from direct exposure to the sun by partially closing curtains and/or blinds to make the unit much more efficient. • NEVER rest objects of any kind on the air conditioner. • DO NOT obstruct the air intake and outlet. Leave the grilles free. • Make sure there are no heat sources in the room. • NEVER use the unit in very damp rooms (such as the laundry room). • NEVER use the unit outdoors. • Make sure the air conditioner is standing on a level surface. If necessary, place caster locks under the front wheels. Close Do Not Cover Curtains...
  • Page 15 INTERMITTENT DRAINAGE (SEE FIG. A BELOW) • Turn the air conditioner off and unplug unit, then drain the water tank by removing the drain plug and allowing the water to flow into a drain pan (not provided). Depending on the size of the pan being used, this step may have to be repeated. It may be easier to wheel the unit to the nearest drain hole or outside, remove the drain plug and drain the water onto the ground freely. • The water tank is considered sufficiently emptied when no more water flows from the drain outlet.

The remote control must be no m ore than 23 ft (7m) away from the unit ( without obstacles between the remote c ontrol and the receiver).
  • Page 17 INSERTING OR REPLACING THE BATTERIES • Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control. • Insert two “AAA” 1.5V batteries in the correct position. (See instructions inside the battery compartment). • Replace the cover. NOTE: If the remote control unit is replaced or disposed of, the batteries must be removed and discarded in accordance with current legislations as they are harmful to the environment.   • Page 18 SMART MODE • The unit automatically selects to operate in COOL or FAN mode. • To set this mode, press the MODE button until the arrow next to the SMART symbol appears. SLEEP FUNCTION The temperature setting will gradually increase to 1ºF above the original set temperature for each of the first 2 hours. The unit will keep operating at the same temperature for 6 hours, then switch to standby mode. To set this function: • Select the operating mode (COOL / DRY / SMART). • Press the SLEEP button; the unit will operate in the selected mode.

    TIMER ON FUNCTION 1. With the unit ON, set operating mode, temperature and fan speed before setting TIMER ON function. 2. Press ON/OFF button to switch into STANDBY. 3. Press the TIMER button twice. The is displayed above the TIMER ON to indicate that it is active. 4. Set the time you want the unit to switch off using the buttons (from 30 minutes to 24 hours). • During the first 10 hours you can select 30 minute intervals up to 9.5 hours; After 10 hours, only 1 hour intervals can be selected. 5. Press the TIMER button again to confirm the setting. The TIMER icon on the control panel will be activated.
