DIAGNOSTICS OF OPTICAL PICKUP AND REPLACING TRAVERSE UNIT Make failure diagnostics of the Optical Pickup as follows. If the laser drive current (IOP) becomes more than 1.5 times of the initial value, the Optical Pickup should be replaced. The laser drive current initial value is checked by "IOP checked Method" of next page. In case of replacing the Pickup, change the whole part of the Traverse Unit.

2. Check the FE balance value Load the DVD (TDV-520C) in the aging mode, and then select the "T3 Servo" mode of the test mode. Select the mode and check FE balance value. 2.1 FE balance value(DVD) check (1) Load the DVD (TDV-520C) in the aging mode, and then select the "T3 Servo" mode of the test mode. HOW TO REPLACE TRAVERSE UNIT Caution: The optical pickup can be damaged easily by static electricity charged on human body. Take necessary anti-static measures when repairing around the optical pickup. (Follow the procedure below in reverse order when reassembling.) • The photograph is DCD-2010AE. 1.

(3) Solder the short-circuit. 3. Traverse Unit disassembly (1) Remove 15P FFC, 24P FFC and 5P PH WIRE connecting with from the MECHA P.W.B. UNIT. (2) Remove 4 screws then detach MECHA P.W.B. UNIT. (3) Remove 4 screws fixing DAMPER. (4) Remove Traverse Unit in the arrow direction.

2. Version display 2.1. procedure (1) P OWER switch is turned to on while pressing the 1 / 3 and 8 buttons simultaneously. "Ver.Disp" is displayed on the FL tube. Next, the version of the system μcom is displayed on FL tube. 4.VERSION UPGRADE PROCEDURE OF FIRMWARE 4.1. Update for IC502(M3062LFGPGP) (1) Prepare the windows PC that installed the FLASHSTA.EXE. ①Connect windows PC with RS-232C cable. ②Switch to the direction of the arrow. S706 (CNVSS) CX708 ⑤Press the RESET button. ④Turn on DCD-2010AE. ③Connect CX072 on the 8U-310040 board (Check connection CY141 on 8U-310040.) with 7P PH-PH CONN.CORD(00D2042971069) (2) Connect SPK-581 as follows.

(4) Check the Internal flash memory in the Select Program. Choose the COM Port number. And click the OK. (5) Click the Refer..(6) Choose the DCD-1650SE.mot. And click the Open.

(7) The FilePath and ID are inputted automatically, and the MCU Type is selected toM16C/20 62 automatically. Click the OK. (8) Click the Setting..

(9) Choose the 57600 in the Baud rate. (DO NOT choosethe other one!!) Click the OK. ※ The setting is memorized if it does once. It is necessary to set it to connected failure again when doing. (10) Click the E.P.R..(11) Click the OK.

(12) Software is written into the I-nternal Flash-ROM. The writing of software takes about 1 minute 30 seconds. The checking of software takes about 50 seconds. (13) Click the OK. Please retry it from (8) when failing.

(14) Click the Exit. (15) Turn off DCD-A100. (16) Remove the SPK-581 form DCD-A100.

4.2. Update for IC803(TMP92FD28AFG) (1) Prepare the windows PC that installed the FlashProg.EXE. (2) Connect SPK-581 as forrows. ①Connect windows PC with RS-232C cable. ②Switch to the direction of the arrow. CX708 ③Connect CX072 on the 8U-310040 board with 7P PH-PH CONN.CORD(00D2042971069). (3) Double click FlashProg.exe, and launch the FlashProgrammer.

(4) Click the Setup in the menu bar and select the Setup File. (5) Click Device tab.

(6) C hoose the TMP91FD28 in the Device, and choose the 900/H1 in the Series. Click Apply, and display the chosen Dvice. (7) Click Password.

(10) Click Browse. (11) Choose the Motorola S Format(*.s16,*.s24,*.s32) in Files of type. Choose the DCD1650_BOLERO_Ver0_4010.s24, and click Open.

(13) Click Option. (14) Choose Erase Without Password (for 900 Family). And Click OK.

(15) Click Communication tab. (16) Choose the Serial port number in the COM Port. Check the Data Rate Manual, and input 9 in the Clock. And Click OK. Choose the Serial port that connect with 232C cable. The setting is completed.

(17) Turn on DCD-A100, and press the RESET button. CX708 ①Turn on DCD-2010AE. ②Press the RESET button. (Check connection CY141 on 8U-310040.) (18) I f the connection with the Flash Programmer is successfully made, a dialogue box saying "Erase All data in this devise? (Y/N)" appears automatically. If the connection fails, error message will appear. (Ex.: E000) Click Yes. (19) Click A (Auto Programing) to start writing. (20) Turn off DCD-A100. (21) Remove the SPK-581 form DCD-A100.
