Starting up for the first time

Before starting the unit for the first time, before starting the system for seasonal work or after a long period at a standstill, carry out
the following preliminary inspections with regard to the electrical and cooling parts.

Preliminary checks on the electrical part

Note: before inspecting any electrical part, disconnect the power supply from the machine by unplugging it from the mains socket.
Checks
• Make sure that the electrical system has been wired-up according to the indications in the wiring diagram and that the cross section
of the cables is adequate.
• Make sure that the power supply and earth cables are firmly connected to the terminals.
• Make sure that there are no disconnected or unhooked cables.
• Make sure that the mains power supply suits the machine requirements.

Preliminary checks on the cooling part

• Make sure that the unit is loaded with refrigerant. This may be checked by using portable freon gauges provided with swivelling sae
¼" connections with air pump connected to the service connection of the tap. The pressure read must correspond to the saturation
pressure corresponding to the room temperature (~7 bar).
• Visually check the cooling circuit to make sure that it is not damaged.
• Make sure that the pipes are not dirty with oil (oil stains could denote possible damage to the cooling circuit).

Pre-operation checks

WARNING
Switch off the power supply before making any connections.
After the installation of the indoor and outdoor unit, check the following
before electrically power:
1. Field wiring
Make sure the electrical connections of the various parts of the system
such, unit and domestic hot water tank, and unit and backup heater
box have been connected according to the instructions described in the
chapter 9.6 Field wiring, according to the wiring diagrams and to local
laws and regulations.
2. Fuses, circuit breakers, or protection devices
Check that the fuses or the locally installed protection devices are of the
size and type specifi ed in the chapter 14 Technical specifi cations. Make
sure that no fuses or protection devices have been bypassed.
3. Close the magnetothermal switch of the DHW tank electric heater
(if present).
4. Earthing wiring
Make sure that the earthing wires have been connected properly and
that the earth terminals are tightened.

Final check

Before switching on the unit, read following recommendations:
■ When the complete installation and all necessary settings have been carried out, close all front panels of the unit and refi t the
unit cover.
■ The service panel of the switch box may only be opened by a licensed electrician for maintenance purposes.

Powering up the unit

When power to the unit is turned on, "1%~99%" is displayed on the user interface during initialization. During this process the
user interface cannot be operated.
To activate the system, refer to the "CONTROL SYSTEM" section.

START UP
5. Visually check the switch box for loose connections or damaged
electrical components.
6. Mounting
Check that the unit is properly mounted, to avoid abnormal noises and
vibrations when starting up the unit.
7. Damaged equipment
Check the inside of the unit for damaged components or squeezed
pipes.
8. Refrigerant leak
Check the inside of the unit for refrigerant leakage. If there is a refrige-
rant leak, call your local dealer.
9. Power supply voltage
Check the power supply voltage on the local supply panel. The voltage
must correspond to the voltage on the identifi cation label of the unit.
11. Shut-off valves
Make sure that the shut-off valves are fully open
