7 After Use

7.1 Transport and Storage

Invacare recommends that the ceiling hoist is always
transported and stored in the original packaging. Place the
ceiling hoist on a soft surface, such as a cloth or foam
rubber mat.
For long term storage, the emergency stop must be activated.
This will reduce the discharge of the battery. Refer to 5.7
Emergency stop, page 11.
For transport and storage conditions of the ceiling hoist,
refer to 10.3 Environmental conditions, page 20.

7.2 Dismounting the ceiling hoist

The ceiling hoist can be dismounted for transport or storage.
Robin®
1. Lift the hoist slightly and push the suspension pin out
of its holder in the trolley.
2. Turn the hoist by 90 degrees and pull it out of the trolley.
Robin® Mover
Contact your Invacare representative or specialized dealer to
have the ceiling hoist dismounted by a specialized service
technician.

7.3 Disposal

WARNING!
Environmental Hazard
Device contains batteries.
This product may contain substances that could
be harmful to the environment if disposed of
in places (landfills) that are not appropriate
according to legislation.
– DO NOT dispose of batteries in normal
household waste.
– Batteries MUST be taken to a proper disposal
site. The return is required by law and free of
charge.
– Do only dispose discharged batteries.
– Cover terminals of lithium batteries prior to
disposal.
– For information on the battery type see battery
label or chapter 10 Technical Data, page 20.
Be environmentally responsible and recycle this product
through your recycling facility at its end of life.
Disassemble the product and its components, so the different
materials can be separated and recycled individually.
The disposal and recycling of used products and packaging
must comply with the laws and regulations for waste
handling in each country. Contact your local waste
management company for information.

7.4 Reconditioning

This product is suitable for reuse. To recondition the product
for a new user, carry out the following actions:
Cleaning and disinfection
Inspection according to service plan
For detailed information about inspection, cleaning and
disinfection, consult the user manual and service manual
for this product.
