One on the top side of the unit for turning the unit ON and OFF during normal use. AC Adapter The AC adapter (RAC00-13701) is intended for long-term use or for recharging the Shields Gate transmitter. Use the AC adapter to charge the battery pack for a minimum of 4 hours prior to first use.
• Battery life of approximately 30 days can be expected from a fully charged battery. • The Shields Gate transmitter will give an audible chirp once every 30 seconds and the power button will flash red every 5 seconds when the battery is low and charging is required.
7K/10K FREQ – System frequency set by Invisible Fence® dealer. o ON/OFF MOTION – Turns motion sensing on or off. “On” mode allows your Shields Gate to go into a sleep mode that wakes as it detects motion to save battery life.
Locate the switch for the Channel (A), Channel (B) and (A+B) Channel. o Select the desired channel setting. Note: Shields Gate will not enter into programming mode if the switch is set to A+B. See Programming Computer Collar on Page 10 o Adjust and verify signal field range.
“In Bounds Side” of the transmitter and move slowly towards the “Out of Bounds Side” of the Shields Gate transmitter. The Out of Bounds Side is indicated by the charge jack. Do not touch the correction posts at this time.
Computer Collar begins to flash green. • The Computer Collar is now programmed to the desired channel. • Verify operation by turning ON Shields Gate and moving the Computer Collar into the signal field. You will hear the Computer Collar beep when it activates.
The units will work in a linked configuration whereas the first unit in the chain controls signal field range and motion sensing. Please contact your local Invisible Fence® Brand dealer to find out if the linking option is right for you and to obtain the required hardware.
If your new Shields® Gate system is used to keep only specific pets out of a specific area, an enhanced visual cue will need to be created. For example, if Shields Gate is meant to keep your dog away from your litter box, flagging the area would also deter the cat who have been trained to understand the meanings of the flags.
