6.1 Basic safety instructions
Mixing intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe circuits

Damage to device if the enclosure is open or not properly closed. The degree of protection
specified in the technical specifications is only guaranteed if the device is installed correctly.
• Keep sealing surfaces clean.
• Close any unused openings in the junction box enclosure using a cap screw.

Incorrect connection to screw-type terminals
Short-circuit or contact problems.
The stripped litz wire may buckle when it is inserted into the terminal. In this case, the cable
is clamped to the insulation.
• Use end sleeves for small conductor cross-sections.
• Remove dirt or cable residue from the enclosure.
