Using the Self-Timer
With < q >, the shooting interval may become longer under some shooting
o
conditions, depending on image quality, use of external flash, and other
factors.
< l > enables you to shoot without touching the camera mounted on a tripod.
o
This prevents camera shake if you shoot still-life or long exposures.
After taking self-timer shots, playing back the image ( = 296) to check focus
o
and exposure is recommended.
When using the self-timer to shoot yourself, use focus lock ( = 71) on an
o
object at the same distance as where you will stand.
To cancel the self-timer after it starts, either tap the screen or press < 0 >.
o
Auto power off time may be extended when the camera is set for remote
o
shooting.

Take the picture.
Focus on the subject, then press the
z
shutter button completely.
To check operation, look at the self-timer
g
lamp, listen for beeps, or watch the
countdown in seconds on the screen.
Self-timer lamp blinking accelerates and
g
the camera beeps quickly approx. 2 sec.
before the picture is taken.
