Problem
Electric motor malfunction
Motor hums and draws

8. Disposal of machine / parts of the machine
Follow all the instructions given in this manual, in particular the instructions in the Safety Section.
Carry out the following steps when disposing of the machine:
1. Decommission the machine and disconnect power and compressed air supplies.
2. Drain and dispose of all consumables.
3. Dispose of the machine in compliance with the local regulations.
Possible cause
grid voltage differs from the nominal
voltage by more than 10%
Cooling air temperature too high
Cable connection faulty
Fuse blown
Not enough cooling air, cooling air
passage is blocked
Failed winding
Short circuit in wiring or motor
Live parts in the motor contact the
housing or the motor has a short circuit
in the windings
Motor is connected wrongly
Not enough soil in the soil bin
Elevator does not supply enough soil
Hatch with safety proximity switch open
(such as drill hatch)
Red head of emergency stop button not
pulled out
Emergency stop button not reset
Automatic circuit breaker in switch box
has tripped
Cable too long, results in voltage drop
Voltage fluctuations caused by other
equipment connected to the same
electrical circuit
Action/solution
Provide for grid supply with the correct
voltage
Provide for cool air
Check and repair cable connection if
necessary
Replace fuse
Provide for proper supply and exhaust of
cooling air
Repair or replace the motor
Remedy short circuit
Call in a repair company to remedy short
circuit
Connect motor properly
Refill the soil bin
Adjust the soil transport belt to a higher
speed
Close hatch and reset safety circuit by
pressing reset button
Pull red head of emergency stop button out
and reset safety circuit by pressing reset
button
Reset safety circuit by pressing reset button
Inspect to find out why automatic circuit
breaker has tripped. Remove any obstacles
from supply belts. Reset automatic circuit
breaker after solving problem
Shorten cable
Provide for the correct voltage. Turn other
equipment off
