2 . 1 3 Filling and draining the system

RESIDENCE COLONNA CONDENS SOLAR boilers incorporate
a CH system fill cock.

Make sure that the system filling cock (2) is closed
before you start to fill or drain the system.
FILLING THE STORAGE CYLINDER
− Make sure that the central heating circuit and
storage cylinder drain cocks (4) and (3) are clo-
sed.
− Open a DHW user tap.
− Open the DHW circuit shut-off cocks and slowly
fill the storage cylinder until clean, air-free water
flows out from the taps in a uniform manner.
FILLING THE CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM
− Make sure that CH system fill cock (4) is closed.
− Slacken off the cap of the automatic vent valve (1)
to let air out of the system.
− Slacken off the cap of the manual bleed valve (5).
Close the valve again as soon as water starts to
come out.
− Open the CH system fill cock (2) and slowly fill the
system until the pressure gauge (7) reads out a
value between 1 and 1.2 bar.
− Close the CH system fill cock (2). Tighten down the
cap on the manual vent valve (5).

Bleed the central heating circuit thoroughly to en-
sure that no air remains in it (see pag . 47) .

The drain points on the solar circuit safety valves
must also be connected to a suitable collection and
drain system.

The manufacturer declines all responsibility for da-
mage caused by water escaping from the safety val-
ves.
