Temporarily Silencing An Alarm

It is occasionally required to temporarily 'silence' an alarm for
conditions where an alarm event has been noted and is being
dealt with. D-Guard
2
allows an alarm condition to be silenced
for 10 minutes by operating the soft-key marked with the 'ear'
icon (bottom right of the display). For detectors with relay
contacts, the relays will be reset to the non-alarm condition for
a ten minute duration. For detectors with local sounders and
flashing beacons (using the internal relay contacts), these will
be switched off for the ten minute period. The inverse
displayed bell icon will remain on the display to indicate that an
alarm event has occurred. After ten minutes the alarm state
will be re-activated if the alarm conditions are still present.
15.1.7

Setting The display Heading (Banner)

By default, the heading at the top of the main measurement
screen is the set gas type and range. This banner will reflect full
scale value changes if they are made.
To allow flexibility, this banner may be selected to either display
the default gas type and range or a user specified text field.
The text field must be entered via HART communication and
uses the HART 'message' field.
The default setup position is the gas type and range
('STANDARD')

Clearing An Alarm State

If an alarm has been triggered and the detector is set to latched
alarm mode, the alarms can be cleared by using the alarm clear
soft-key. This is the upper right bell icon with the cross adjacent
to it.
Clearing an alarm must only be done by an authorised person.
If the conditions that triggered the alarm are still present, the
alarm will activate again.
Use the up and down arrow keys to select between the two
options. The change is automatically saved when the arrow keys
are operated.
The actual message to be displayed should be sent to the
detector using a HART communications tool before selection.
Formatting of the user text string should be done carefully to
prevent the message from being truncated or sitting off-centre.
