2.7 Print Color documents in black and white only.
It is very important to understand that even though a document might use only black text,
the printer will still interpret the document as a color document and color might be used to
print the document. To make sure that only black toner is being used for printing, the driver
has to be changed to black toner only (pure black/white printing). This setting can be
selected in the driver. If black is created with mixed colors (CMYK) then you have to take the
color toner usage into account.
1. Load the media input tray. Make sure that the top of the media is forward and the
side to be printed on (the rough side of transparencies) is facing up.
2. Adjust the media guides to fit the width of the media.
3. Open a document in a program, such as Microsoft Word.
4. Select the print command. For most programs, click the File menu, and then click
Print. The Print dialog box appears.
5. On the Print dialog box, click Properties.
6. On the Basic tab, change the Favorite Setting to GrayScale.
7. Print the document.
