4-2 Checking the Electrical Components
(1)
Measurement of Insulation
Resistance
• The insulation is in good condition if the
resistance exceeds 1 MΩ.
1
Power Supply Wires
Clamp the earthed wire of the Power Supply
wires with a lead clip of the insulation resis-
tance tester and measure the resistance by
placing a probe on either of the power wires.
(Fig. 25)
Then measure the resistance between the earthed
wire and the other power wire. (Fig. 25)
2
Indoor Unit
Clamp an aluminum plate fin or copper tube
with the lead clip of the insulation resistance
tester and measure the resistance by placing
a probe on high voltage terminal on the
1
terminal plate (Fig. 26)
See Fig. 22.
3
Outdoor Unit (GRV250R5TAA)
Clamp a metallic part of the unit with the lead
1 2
clip of the insulation resistance tester and
measure the resistance by placing a probe on
1 and then 2 on the 8 or 6P terminal plate.
(Fig. 26)
See Fig. 22.

3
Outdoor Unit (GRV250R7TAA,
GRV369R7TAA, GRV480R7TAA)
Clamp a metallic part of the unit with the lead
clip of the insulation resistance tester and
measure the resistance by placing a probe on
4
5 and then 6, and then 7 on the 8P terminal
plate. (Fig. 26)
See Fig. 23.
