Function and application
The stop lever 1 of the intermediate-position module aJ swivels in and out when
the pneumatic connections are pressurized. In the swiveled-out status, the cush
ioning component in the shock absorber retainer 9 advances to the stop lever.
The slide of the linear drive 8 is therefore in an intermediate position. The posi
tion of the stop lever 1 can be sensed through cylinder switches in the slots 6.
The intermediate position module DADM-EP-G6 aJ is intended to be used as an
external stop for a linear drive and enables the slide to be placed in an
intermediate position within the stroke range. The DADM-EP-G6 may only be used
in combination with sufficient cushioning. When combined with linear drive DGSL,
the shock absorber retainer DADP-ES-G6 9 with cushioning component is suitable
(è www.festo.com/catalogue).

Requirements for product use
• Take into consideration the legal regulations applicable for the destination as
well as:
– regulations and standards,
– regulations of the testing organisations and insurers,
– national specifications.
• Take into account the material specifications (è Technical data).
• Use the product in its original status, without any unauthorised product modific
ations.
• Take into consideration the ambient conditions at the location of use.
Corrosive environments (e.g. ozone) will reduce the service life of the product.
• Use the product in a clean environment.
In case of contamination, the lever may swivel sluggishly.
• Take the tolerance of the tightening torques into account. Unless otherwise
specified, the tolerance is ± 20 %.
• Make sure the compressed air is properly prepared (è Technical data).

Installation
4.1 Mechanical installation
Note
Danger of damage to the linear drive.
• Always operate the intermediate-position module aJ in combination with the
shock absorber retainer 9 with a screwed-in cushioning component
(è www.festo.com/catalogue).
• Make sure that the slide of the linear drive moves cushioned into the interme
diate position and end positions. In combination with linear drive DGSL, the
intermediate-position module must be fastened directly next to the linear
drive.
• Observe that the intermediate-position module aJ projects over the contour
of the linear drive DGSL 8.
To mount the intermediate-position module aJ:
• Fasten the intermediate-position module with two screws and the accompany
ing centring sleeves to the mounting surface (flatness: Min. 0.1 mm). This
roughly establishes the position of the intermediate position. Precision adjust
4
ment of the intermediate position takes place during commissioning by screwing
the cushioning component in or out.
The following mounting options are possible:
– lateral mounting to the drill holes 4
5
– mounting to the base 7.
6
Observe the tightening torque (è Fig. 3).
• Fasten the shock absorber retainer 9 with two screws to the slide of the linear
7
drive.
Comply with the tightening torque (è Fig. 4).
