Interpreting the POST results

Each time the switch is powered on, rebooted, or reset, the switch performs a power-on self-test
(POST). Total boot time with the POST can be several minutes. The POST can be omitted after
subsequent reboots by using the fastboot command or entering the diagDisablePost command to

Description
Power supply and fan assembly is not receiving
power, or is off.
Power supply and fan assembly is operating
normally.
Power supply and fan assembly is faulty for one of
the following reasons:
• The assembly is switched off (flashing for ~ 5
seconds, then off).
• The power cable is disconnected (flashing for ~ 5
seconds, then off).
• The power supply and fan assembly has failed.
NOTE: When the device is first powered on, the
power supply and fan assembly status LED flashes
until POST has completed.

Action required
Verify that the power supply and fan
assembly is on and seated and the
power cord is connected to a
functioning power source.
No action is required.
Try one of the following:
• Check the power cable connection.
• Verify that the assembly is powered
on.
