Operating Checklist

Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent
upon the awareness, concern, prudence, and proper
training involved in the operation, transport, storage, and
maintenance of the rake. Therefore, it is absolutely
essential that no one operates the Landscape Rake
without first having read, fully understood, and become
totally familiar with the Operator's Manual. Make sure the
operator has paid particular attention to:

Operating Checklist
Check
Check 3-point hook-up procedure. Be sure
all pins have been installed and are secured.
All rake adjustments have been made and
pins have been installed and are secured.
The operator has read and understands how
to operate the rake.
The Landscape Rake has been lubricated as
required.
Check rake initially and periodically for loose
bolts & pins, See Torque Values Chart.

General Safety

!
DANGER
Do not allow anyone to operate this implement who has not
been properly trained in its safe operation and do not let
children under the age of 16 operate this implement.
!
DANGER
Always support underside of Landscape Rake with solid
supports before working beneath unit. Never work under
equipment supported by hydraulics. Hydraulics can drop
equipment instantly if controls are actuated or if hydraulic
lines burst. Either situation can drop the rake even when
power to hydraulics is shut off.
!
DANGER
Be aware that the rake can extend beyond the tractor tire and
will make a wide swinging pattern when turning. Always keep
a safe distance from obstructions. Never allow rake to strike a
solid object such as a tree, post, or building. Striking solid
objects can cause tractor to pivot violently resulting in loss of
control, serious injury, or death.

DANGER
Never carry a person on the Landscape Rake. A person can
fall and be ran over causing serious injury or death.
!
DANGER
Always check all hardware for tightness before using or
working around the rake. The rake will fall off if rake pivot
hardware is missing.
!
WARNING
Do not use Landscape Rake for pulling objects out of the
ground such as fence posts and stumps, for lifting objects, for
carrying objects, or for towing other equipment. Any of the
above can damage the Landscape Rake, cause serious bodily
injury, or death.

WARNING

Operate rake only from a tractor equipped with a ROPS in the

raised position or with a ROPS cab and seat belt securely
fastened.

CAUTION

Be certain you are not working over any underground wiring,
pipes, or other obstructions. If there is any doubt, call your

public service agency.

CAUTION
When using the parking stand, make certain it is rotated fully
down and properly pinned with the wire retaining pin or the
rake can fall causing serious injury.

CAUTION
Do not push or pull other objects with the rake. Improper use
can bend and/or break the Landscape Rake.
!
CAUTION
Never angle rake frame or rake teeth into the tractor tires.
This can damage the rake and tractor tires.
IMPORTANT: Do not hitch Landscape Rake to a
tractor rated outside the recommended horsepower
range. Doing so can bend and/or break the rake.
IMPORTANT: Be careful when working areas where
obstructions can be hidden. Always check the area
before working it and mark any potential hazards
with a visible flag. Travel slowly through high risk
areas and always be prepared to stop immediately
should the rake make contact with a solid object.
