    - Use flashing lights or other safety signs, when required. - Don’t stand on the machine. - Use genuine LELY parts only. - Remove the pressure from hydraulic systems before starting work on them and/or before coupling/uncoupling hydraulic hoses.
  • Page 9: Explanation Of Safety Decals On The Machine

EXPLANATION OF SAFETY DECALS ON THE MACHINE • Carefully read operator’s manual before handling the machine. Observe instructions and safety rules when operating. • Attention! Moving parts. Stay clear of rotating machine parts. • Danger of flying objects. Maintain a sufficient, safe distance from the machine as long as the tractor engine is running.
  • Page 10: Introduction

1 INTRODUCTION The LOTUS 1325 is a 3 point linkage tedder with an effective working width of 13,25 m. A capacity up to approx. 18 ha/h can be achieved thanks to the massive working width and high forward speed at which the machine can be operated (up to 15 km/h).
  • Page 11: Transport

    - Fit the safety chain of the protection tube to a rigid part of the tractor. - Fold down the PTO shaft support. - Connect the hydraulic hose (A, fig. 3) to a single acting hydraulic tractor valve with floating position. Max.
  • Page 12: Machine Adjustments

    • Remove the pressure from the pressure line of the control block. The oil pump of certain tractor models may incur damage as a result of sustained load. - Make sure all rotors are duly locked (A, B, C - fig. 5). The machine is now ready for transport.
  • Page 13: Adjustment Of Wheel Supports

Adjustment of wheel supports - Lift the rotors clear from the ground by means of the single acting hydraulic tractor valve. - Adjust the land wheels in the position which ensures the largest clearance between the rotors and ground level (fig. When having to deal with light crops, or in windy conditions, a more level machine adjustment may be required.
  • Page 14: Operating The Lotus

    - Turn the abutment bush towards the yoke if a steeper adjustment is needed. If a more level adjustment is required, the abutment bush should be turned away from the yoke. - Lower all rotors onto the ground by means of lever .
  • Page 15: Forward Speed And Pto Speed

During operations, the single acting hydraulic valve has to be in the floating position. Forward tilting of the machine does not change if the single acting valve is actuated. If the crop is not picked up effectively: check if forward tilting of the machine is checked by the stop block on the ...
  • Page 16: Dismounting From The Tractor

6 DISMOUNTING FROM THE TRACTOR The machine can be dismounted from the tractor both in the working- and in the transport position. - Switch off the tractor engine. - Set the parking jack in the bottom position. - Lower the hydraulic lift until the parking jack rests on the ground.
  • Page 17: Lubrication

Lubrication - Apply grease to all nipples on the machine (fig. 13). When greasing the gearboxes, keep turning the rotors bit by bit ensuring effective distribution of grease all over the gears. - Grease or lubricate all remaining pivot points every 40 working hours.
  • Page 18: Intermittent Maintenance

Intermittent maintenance Intermittent maintenance has to be carried out: • at the start of the season; • before prolonged storage of the machine; • when the machine is used extensively during the season. - Grease all points of the machine listed in § 7.2 “Lubrication”.
