5.4 Adjustment of the azimuth
(vertical position of the cartridge / stylus in the record groove)
Important: Please use extreme caution during this step. Always lift the arm upwards
during the adjustment.
Use the cueing lever to carefully lower the cartridge on to the LP or tangential alignment gauge.
Check the vertical alignment viewed from the front of the cartridge and adjust it if necessary.
The cartridge is optimally positioned when it is perpendicular to the LP surface (see Picture 12).
To achieve the optimal position, lift the cartridge and loosen the two screws in the aluminum
carriage (see Picture 13), then gently turn the arm tube in the desired direction. Try to maintain
the forward / backward position of the tube (optimum: 64 mm from the top of the needle to the
front of the carriage, see Picture 14).
