Functional requirement

▷ The Bluetooth passkey, refer to page 123,
on the back of the snap-in adapter is
known.
▷ The snap-in adapter is installed in the cen‐
ter armrest.
▷ The ignition is switched on.
▷ The SIM card is inserted in the snap-in
adapter or the SIM Access Profile is active.
Pairing the snap-in adapter with the
vehicle
Activate the Bluetooth connection, refer to
page 79, in the vehicle. Up to four devices, in‐
cluding the handset, can be connected.

2. "Connections"
3. "Bluetooth®"
All paired mobile phones are listed.
4. "Add new device"
5. Press the button on the snap-in
adapter for approx. 5 seconds.
The LED above the button flashes green.
6. Enter the Bluetooth passkey for the snap-
in adapter at the Control Display.
7. Select the desired functions:
▷ "Telephone 1"
▷ "Telephone 2"
8. "OK"

Pairing the handset

The concept
To be able to use the handset, it must be con‐
nected to the snap-in adapter. The handset
has already been connected at the factory. The
connection is established automatically every
time the handset is switched on. Make sure

Telephone in the rear
that the battery is correctly inserted on the rear
of the handset.
Note
This means that the handset only has to be
paired again if a new handset is used.

Connecting the handset

1. Press the button on the snap-in
adapter for approx. 17 seconds.
The LED above the button lights up or‐
ange.
2. Switch on the handset.
3. "GSM-SIA"
4. "Ok"
5. "GSM-SIA BMW"
6. "Ok"
7. Enter the Bluetooth passkey.
8. "Ok"
The connection to the snap-in adapter is
established.
