Insert the SIM card as shown on the side of
the snap-in adapter.
4.
Push the bottom of the snap-in adapter
until it locks into place.
5.
Press down until it engages.
Removing the SIM card
To remove the SIM card, pull it out of the snap-
in adapter.
Operating via SIM Access
Profile SAP
The concept
The snap-in adapter uses Bluetooth to access
the SIM card in the mobile phone via its SIM
Access Profile SAP. The phone in the rear of
the vehicle can be used via the handset that is
connected to the snap-in adapter.
Calls and the connection to the external an‐
tenna pass through the snap-in adapter. The
radiation generated during transmission is dis‐
charged from the passenger compartment.
If the mobile phone is paired with the vehicle
and downloading of its internal phone book en‐
tries is supported, the internal phone book can
be displayed on the handset and on the Con‐
trol Display.
Functional requirement
The mobile phone is SAP-compatible. De‐

The mobile phone is switched on and the
Bluetooth interface is activated.
A SIM card is not inserted in the snap-in
adapter.
The snap-in adapter is fitted.
The handset is switched on.

Connecting the mobile phone via SAP

1.
Press the button on the snap-in
adapter for approx. 11 seconds.
The LED above the button flashes alter‐
nately in green and orange.
2.
A 16-digit SAP PIN is displayed on the
handset.
3.
"Connect" with BMW GSM SIA.
4.
Enter the displayed PIN on the mobile
phone.

Breaking the connection

Deactivate the SAP connection on the mo‐
bile phone. The connection is automati‐
cally restored after approx. 10 seconds if
the Bluetooth interface is not deactivated.
Switch off the handset.
Switch off the ignition for more than 3 mi‐
nutes.
Take the mobile phone approx. 10 yards
away from the vehicle.
Pairing the snap-in adapter
with the vehicle
The concept
Connect the snap-in adapter to the vehicle.
The phone book is displayed on the Control
Display and front hands-free system can be
used.
