Removing the solid-state drive/Intel Optane

You need to disable the Intel Optane before removing it from your computer. For more information about disabling the Intel Optane, see

Prerequisites

Remove the
base
cover.

Procedure

Loosen the captive screw that secures the solid-state drive shield/Intel Optane shield and solid-state drive/Intel Optane to the palm
rest and keyboard assembly.
NOTE:
Solid-state drive shield is available only on computers shipped with NVMe solid-state drive.

In computers shipped with mSATA solid-state drive/Intel Optane, remove the screw (M2x3) that secures the solid-state drive/Intel
Optane to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.

Slide the solid-stare drive shield/Intel Optane shield and lift the solid-state drive shield/Intel Optane shield off the palm rest and
keyboard assembly.

Slide and remove the solid-state drive/Intel Optane from the slot.
