Quick Guide to the INV-EF100 Thermometer

Measuring forehead temperature

1. With the probe cover attached, point the thermometer at the center of the forehead.
2. Move the thermometer towards the forehead until the probe cover touches the skin. The probe cover acts as a
distance guide and ensures that the measuring distance between the thermometer and the forehead is correct.
3. Press and release the F1 button. The temperature will be displayed on the screen instantly.
Note: Make sure that the forehead is free of hair and perspiration.

Measuring temperature via eardrum

1. Gently remove the probe cover to reveal the ear probe.
2. Insert the ear probe into the ear canal.
2. Press and release the F2 button. The temperature will be displayed on the screen instantly.
Note: Make sure that the ear canal is straight so that the sensor is in line with the eardrum
For children older than 1 year old, gently pull the ear up to ensure that the ear canal is straight (See Figure 1).
Position the ear probe carefully so that it is aligned with the eardrum to ensure accurate measurement readings.
This applies to adults as well. For children younger than 1 year old, gently pull the ear straight back to ensure that
the ear canal is straight (see Figure 2).
CAUTION! The sensor is extremely sensitive. Any debris and/or grease on the sensor lens might prevent
an accurate measurement. For best result, please check and clean the lens regularly. Please note that the
sensor lens can look deceptively "clean" when it is not. The lens of a clean sensor should be reflective
and gleaming. If it looks dull and lackluster, then it is dirty. Please clean the lens with a cotton swab
moistened with alcohol and wait 5-10 mins for the alcohol to completely evaporate before using the
thermometer.
°C/°F conversion
When the thermometer is off, press and hold the F2 button for 6-9 seconds until the "- - -°C/°F" temperature unit
is blinking. Press the F2 button again within 5 seconds to change the temperature unit to your choice.
