1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW The GSM Modem allows an Aidcall Customer Services Engineer to connect to a Touchsafe Pro Nursecall panel from a remote PC to perform on line diagnostics. The GSM Modem will normally be connected to the Master Panel as this will have a copy of all the data used to run the system and a full set of system logs. Please note the Modem only allows the site data to be viewed remotely, no changes can be made to the panel setup via the Modem connection. 2. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read and understand these instructions before use. Keep these instructions for future reference. Take care when working on step ladders during installation or service. Do not disassemble this product when connected to a power source. No user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Only use the manufacturer’s Power Supply (Model No. GT‐41062‐1812) supplied with the Modem. This product should be located at least 2 metres away from other electronic equipment. Failure to provide this separation may result in reduced radio range. Do not locate this product above a radiator or other heat source. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not submerge in water and do not use in damp or humid conditions. Do not expose this product to dripping or splashing water. Liquids can cause a failure and/or a fire hazard. Clean with a hard‐surface disinfectant wipe or a damp cloth and a non‐abrasive cleaning product. Polish with a dry duster. DO NOT use a wet cloth. Avoid using harsh, abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents or detergents (e.g. scouring powders, bleaches, polishes, etc.) when cleaning this product. At the end of its life this product should be disposed of and recycled in accordance with the environmental regulations. See the Regulatory Information in section 3 below. ...

MAINTENANCE & CARE For peace of mind and to ensure your system is maintained to the highest standard Aidcall recommend an annual maintenance contract. This will provide vital assistance in times of need from a nationwide team of trained Service Engineers who specialise in wireless Nursecall systems. A preventative maintenance visit (PMV) is also available from Aidcall, this covers the replacement of all batteries, a full system test, software updates (where applicable) and a Service Certificate. 6. GSM MODEM INSTALLATION The GSM Modem requires connection to the mains supply via a local un‐switched 13A mains socket and a hardwired data connection to the Touchsafe Pro Master Panel. GSM MODEM INSTALLATION Select the best location observing the rules shown on page 7 and fix the Modem enclosure to the wall with 4 x No.6 x 1” Pozi screws through the 4 corner fixing holes “A” shown below. 142mm A UP A DATA CONNECTION Plug the 9 pin “D” plug of the 5m long Data Cable into the Touchsafe Pro Master Panel COM1 (as shown below) and route the cable out of the enclosure to the Modem. The 5m cable provided can be cut‐down in length but DO NOT extend any longer. Connect using the colour code below to the 3 screw terminals on the short Data Cable plugged onto the Adaptive Cable inside the Modem enclosure. ...

8. TOUCHSAFE PRO PANEL SETUP Go to the Touchsafe Pro Master Panel (ID 1), Logon as an Engineer or Manager and select the GSM Modem option… Figure 1 The configuration screen is shown here. See below for details on setup. Note: this only needs to be set on the Master Panel (ID 1) to which the Modem is connected. Press the Save button then Close to exit. Accept Call From: If the telephone number of the engineer is entered into this test box and an engineer makes a mobile call to the panel, the number will be compared to the incoming call and if there is a match, the panel will initiate an IP connection to the Remote IP Address. Remote IP Address: This is the number of the Router connected to the internet in the initiators building. By default this is set to 82.69.230.11. If required, this can be changed to an IP address chosen by the Engineer. If the IP address has been changed and Aidcall are required to connect, then the user should select the “Connect To Aidcall” checkbox. This will override the IP address shown in the box above it. In the event that a different entry is required, it is possible to add a file to the “Site” directory on the SD card called “AidcallIP.txt”. This file can be set to the required IP address e.g. 10.23.10.45. If this is done, checking the “Connect To Aidcall” checkbox will result in an IP connection being made to the address contained within the file. ...

8. TOUCHSAFE PRO PANEL SETUP Text Error To Caller: If the panel cannot make a connection to the remote IP address, an SMS can be sent to the mobile number entered in the “Accept Call From” field. This will indicate the IP address that it is attempting to connect to, the signal strength and the stage of the connection at which the failure occurred, e.g. Signal Strength: The signal strength level can be interrogated by pressing the SIGNAL STRENGTH button. The GSM modem should be positioned to ensure that it has the strongest mobile signal strength. A test call should be made to ensure that the system is fully functional. Clear List: Text can be cleared from the list box by pressing the CLEAR LIST button. The screen image in Figure 1 above shows the message presented when no modem is connected. The other information shows the state of the connection during the call sequence such as Errors and connection states. Save: The settings can be saved to a file so that they are available the next time the GSM is used by pressing the SAVE button. Disconnect In: This shows a countdown period. If no communication is received during a connection from the remote user for approx 2 minutes, the panel will start to disconnect from the remote PC. Every time a new command is received from the remote user, the timer is refreshed. In the event that the Manager of the site wants to close the GSM connection then the RESET MODEM button should be pressed to perform a controlled shutdown. 9. PC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION The Windows software installer will consist of 2 files; Setup.exe and TSP GSM Modem.msi Double Click on the Setup.exe file and follow the install process… Click Next… This will install the application into the Program Files directory as shown above. 9. PC SOFTWARE INSTALLATION You may be prompted to allow the install of the application… Click Yes. The installer will run and upon completion the following message will be displayed; Click Close. 10. RUNNING THE PC SOFTWARE Double Click on the shortcut to run the software, the following application will appear… Note: the remote Touchsafe Pro panel must be configured to allow the connection and the connection process must be started by either pressing the “Connect” button at the remote panel or by dialling into the panel from a mobile phone. Each of the tabbed pages can be used to collect the required data from the remote panel. Once the panel has connected, its connection status is shown in the lower left of the application and a timer will decrement to show the remaining connection time. If no further request to the panel is made, the timer in the panel will count to zero and begin disconnection from the PC application. If further requests to the panel are made before the disconnect timeout has lapsed, the timer is refreshed. The timeout is set to 2 minutes. Once the PC application detects that there is less than 30 seconds of connection time left, the “Remote Disconnect Timer” will flash between Red and Black text as a warning. If at any time the Close button is pressed, the remote panel will detect that the IP link between the two has been broken and will begin the disconnection phase with the GSM modem. 11. REQUEST GENERAL INFORMATION Press the “Request General Information” button to display information relating to the general settings of the panel such as Date, Time, Network ID, Preamble and software versions of the panel; Note: this information can be saved at any time for future reference. By default the data will be saved to C:\Temp\Site Name. The user should edit the bottom right hand corner text box if a specific site name is required. 12. REQUEST LOG LIST Press the “Request Log List” button to display a list of the available log files. The data may take a while to arrive if it is a large file and the “Please Wait Collecting Data…” message will be shown. Individual files can then be selected from the drop down box and that file can be requested by pressing the “Request Log File” button. 13. REQUEST ATX LIST OG FILES Press the “Request ATX List” button to display a list of all ATX’s on the site. An individual ATX file can then be selected from the drop down box and that file can be requested by pressing the “Request ATX” button. Typical data for an ATX is shown below; If there is a requirement to add a Call Point to a site, an existing unit can be cloned. Note: cloning a unit can only be performed within the same Zone. If a unit were allowed to be cloned in an unknown zone, radio coverage may be compromised and is therefore not allowed. Once the device has been requested, the “Clone” button can be pressed and a device can be cloned. The clone screen below shows the panels that the device is set to be shown on. 13. REQUEST ATX LIST Once the required parameters have been entered, they can be transmitted to the panel. A confirmation prompt will be displayed; If the data is sent to the main panel, it will be distributed to the other panels on the system. This means that once this new Call Point has arrived on site it can be activated on the system. Note: cloning of the Follow Me Lights is not allowed; this kind of configuration would be performed by an Engineer during a maintenance visit. 14. REQUEST NIGHT MODE SETTINGS Press the “Request Night Mode” button to display all Night Mode settings on the site; 15. REQUEST TELECARE LIST Press the “Request Telecare List” button to display a list of all Telecare devices on the site. An individual Telecare file can then be selected from the drop down box and that file can be requested by pressing the “Request Telecare Device” button. An individual Common Call file can then be selected from the drop down box and that file can be requested by pressing the “Request Common Call File” button.
