As an overview, this chapter gives the scope of this document and lists the board’s features. The document’s organization is then detailed.

  • Page 7: Chapter 2: Setting Up The Msp430-5510Stk Board

    2.1 Electrostatic warning MSP430-5510STK is shipped in a protective anti-static package. The board must not be exposed to high electrostatic potentials. A grounding strap or similar protective device should be worn when handling the board. Avoid touching the component pins or any other metallic element.

    2.4 Prebuilt software On powering the board via the USB the PWR LED should turn on. The LED1 should blink green and the LCD should show the message: “OLIMEX”. 2.5 Bootloader mode To enter bootloader mode press USB_BSL button and then plug the board. You will also need the correct bootloader software which is available at Texas Instruments web site in the USB Developer Package.
