3.1 FIELD WIRING, CONTINUED

3.1.3 Video

NOTE: If the UTP option is installed, the video is run on UTP cable (twisted pair) and the BNC
connector is not used. A UTP-compatible receiver is required at the monitor. The video
on the UTP cable cannot be daisy-chained.
RG-59/U coaxial cable is recommended for cable runs less than 1500 feet.
If the UTP option is installed, 1 twisted-pair of the UTP cabling is required for video.
The video must be terminated in 75 ohms at the last video device. If the video is not
terminated or double terminated, the resulting picture is poor and ghosting is displayed.

3.1.4 Alarm

Connect a twisted-pair cable from each peripheral alarm contact to each input at the
alarm number terminal and the alarm common terminal. The alarm is a dry contact
between the alarm terminal and the common terminal.
