The PR6 is not recommended for use with the K3
a K3 transceiver equipped with the upgraded "B" version of the
optional KXV3 module (KXV3B). The KXV3B is standard
equipment on all K3 transceivers and is available as an upgrade

for K3 transceivers. The KXV3B offers two preamplifiers, the
original preamplifier (

preamplifier for weak signal work on the 12, 10 and 6 meter
bands ( ).

Using both the ultra low-noise preamplifier provided in the
KXV3B and an external preamplifier would unnecessarily
subject the K3 to overload while not providing any additional
sensitivity.
If you have a K3 and are not sure whether it is equipped with
the KXV3B upgrade, check by holding
configuration menu and turning VFO B to locate
in the menu. If the KXV3B is installed an enabled,
