ENGINE OPERATION

1. Cowl latch
Removing the recoil starter
1. Loosen the three bolts (A, B, C) fasten-
ing the tank. (Don't remove the tank
fastening bolts.)

2. Remove the three bolts (D, E, F) fas-
tening the recoil starter.

3. Remove the recoil starter.

4. Tighten the three bolts (A, B, C) fas-
tening the tank and one bolt (D) fasten-
ing the recoil starter.
 Confirm that the shift lever is at Neutral
(N) position.
 Wrap a rope around the starter pulley
then pull quickly to start.
 Use a 10 mm socket wrench as a rope
handle.
 Reinstall top cowl after engine starts.
