In this document all the basic functions of a mobile phone will be taken into account; for each one of them a proper hardware solution will be suggested and eventually the wrong solutions and common errors to be avoided will be evidenced.

    Hardware Commands 5.1. Auto-Turning ON the GL865 To Auto-turn on the GL865, the power supply must be applied on the power pins VBATT and VBATT_PA, after 1000 m-seconds, the pin will be at the high logic level and the module V_AUX / PWRMON can be consider fully operating.

    A Bypass low ESR capacitor of adequate capacity must be provided in order to cut the current absorption peaks close to the GL865, a 100µF tantalum capacitor is usually suited. Make sure the low ESR capacitor on the power supply output (usually a tantalum one) is rated at least 10V.

    Keep the antenna line far away from the GL865 power supply lines; If EM noisy devices are present on the PCB hosting the GL865, such as fast switching ICs, take care of the shielding of the antenna line by burying it inside the layers of PCB and surround it with Ground planes, or shield it with a metal frame cover.

    The only configuration that doesn't need a level translation is the 2.8V UART. The serial port on the GL865 is a +2.8V UART with all the 7 RS232 signals.
