This quick start guide will help you become familiar with our DVR in a very short time.
Before installation and operation, please read the following safeguards and warnings carefully!

All installations and operations here should conform to your local electrical safety codes.
We assume no liability or responsibility for any of the fires or electrical shocks caused by
improper handling or installation.
We are not liable for any problems caused by unauthorized modifications or attempted repair.
Improper battery use may result in fire, explosion, or personal injury.
When replacing the battery, please make sure you are using the same model!
Note: All the installations and operations here should conform to your local electrical
safety rules.
1. CHECK UNP ACKED DV R
When you receive the DVR, please check whether there is any visible damage. The protective
materials used for the packaging of the DVR can protect most accidental disturbances during
transportation. Then, open the box to check the accessories. Please check the items in
accordance with the list on the warranty card. Finally, remove the protective film from the DVR.
2. AB OUT FRONT P ANEL AND RE AR PANEL
For detailed information about the function keys on the front panel and the ports on the rear
panel, please refer to the User's Manual included in the resource CD. The model number on the
front panel should match what is on your purchase order. The label in the rear panel contains
the serial number you would need to present when we provide after sales service.

  • Page 2 3. HDD INSTAL L ATION This 960H DVR has only one SATA HDD. Please use a HDD of 7200rpm or higher. You can refer to the User’s Manual for recommended HDD brands. Please follow the instructions below to install hard drive.

    Note:  First, connect the HDD data (SATA) cable and the power cable before positioning the HDD in the DVR.  Please pay attention to the front cover. It adopts a vertical sliding design. You need to push the clip first and then push down. 4.

    5. Rear Panel Diagram 6. USB Mouse A regular 3-button (Left/Right/Scroll-wheel) USB mouse can also be used with this DVR. The buttons on the mouse correspond to the following functions: 1. Left Button: Single-Click: Select a component of a menu, such as a button or an input field. Double-Click: Switch between single screen and multi-screen mode in Preview/ Playback mode.

    6.1 Soft Keyboard When a mouse is used to perform tasks on the DVR, clicking on a text input field will bring up the Soft Keyboard. The buttons on the soft keyboard represent: Lowercase: Designates lowercase input is being used. Uppercase: Designates uppercase input is being used.
  • Page 6 7. Local Log-In By default, your DVR comes with one user account, the Administrator account. The Administrator user name is admin and the password is 12345. The default password for Administrator should be changed right away for security reasons. The Administrator has the authority to add, delete, and configure parameters for many of the system functions.
  • Page 7 8 Access Web Interface Smart Client is designed to access and control single DVR. Compared with CMS, it has less functions and much easier for user. You can also access your DVR by browser. It is similar to Smart Client. 8.1 Login to Your Device To access your device, you need to login first.
