Paper Protection Does Not Work

If unsupported originals such as the following are fed by mistake, you can detect paper jams by analyzing the
scanned image. You can reduce damage to the originals by stopping scanning immediately.
❏ Stapled originals
❏ Glued originals
❏ Folded originals
You cannot detect an error when scanning in the following situations.
❏ The originals are fed to the scanning sensor without skewing, such as when the end (the opposite side to the
feeding direction) of the original is stapled.
❏ The edge of the original is a dark gay color.

The Originals Get Dirty

Clean the inside of the scanner.

Scanning Takes a Long Time

❏ When the resolution is high, scanning may take some time.
❏ If you enabled Scanned image, the originals are analyzed when they are scanned. Feeding may pause before
outputting the originals, and scanning may take a long time for the following originals.
❏ Originals with many lines or creases
❏ Originals scanned at high resolution such as more than 300 dpi
Note:
When you select Settings from the Detect Double Feed in Epson Scan 2, you can set the Scanned image settings.
❏ If you enabled Paper Protection while setting the resolution to more than 300 dpi and the Image Type as Black
& White, scanning may take some time.
