SERVICING YOUR TILLER

AIR FILTER INSPECTION

1.
Unscrew the wing nut, and
remove the air cleaner cover.
Check the air filter elements to be
sure they are clean and in good
condition.
2.
If the air filter elements are dirty,
clean them as described on page
45
. Replace the air filter elements
if they are damaged.
3.
Reinstall the air cleaner cover,
and tighten the wing nut securely.
Operating the engine without an air filter, or with a damaged air filter,
will allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear. This type
of damage is not covered by the warranty.

AIR FILTER CLEANING

A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing engine
performance. If you operate the tiller in very dusty areas, clean the air
filter more frequently than specified in the Maintenance Schedule.
1.
Remove the wing nut and air cleaner cover.
2.
Remove the wing nut and grommet, remove the air filter elements
and separate them.
3.
Carefully check both filter elements for holes or tears and replace if
necessary.
