1 Discharge the refrigerant from the system
(see the section on discharging and charg-
ing). Relieve the load on the engine mount-
ing by jacking up the power unit under the
gearbox.
2 Disconnect the refrigerant hoses from the
compressor pipes.
.3 Remove the heat shield and compressor
stay.
4 Remove the compressor pipes from the com-
pressor (one socket-head cap screw).
5 Remove the drive belt.
6 Remove the engine mounting bolt.

Rerhove the three engine mounting retain-
ing bolts (the centre bolt need only be
backed off). Jack up the engine as far as it
will go.
8 Lift out the compressor with the engine
mounting. Refit in the reverse order. Lubri-
cate the pipes and connections with refriger-
ation oil.
For particu lars of the tightening torques, see
the "Technical specifications".
Topping up with oil need only be carried out
if a new compressor has been fitted.
If the same compressor is fitted, top up only
with the amount of oil necessary to replace
any oil that has run out.
Replacing the magnetic clutch, 1979,
1980 models
(Compressor removed)
1 Fit the compressor to holder 8392233 and
mount in a vice.
Heat shield and support stay removed
