This sect ion describes com m on problem s you m ay encount er wit h t he Swit ch and possible
solut ions.
Troubleshoot t he Swit ch using t he LEDs t o det ect problem s.
The PW R LED on t he front panel does not light up.
Check t he connect ions from your Swit ch t o t he powe r source. Make sure you are using t he
supplied power cord and t hat you are using an appropriat e power source. Refer t o t he product
specificat ions.
Make sure t he power source is t urned on and t hat t he Swit ch is receiving sufficient power.
I f t hese st eps fail t o correct t he problem , cont ac t your local dist ribut or for assist ance.
The LN K/ ACT, 1 G or 1 0 / 1 0 0 LED does not light up when a device is connect ed.
Verify t hat t he at t ached device( s) is t urned on and properly connect ed t o your Swit ch.
Make sure t he net work adapt ers are working on t he at t ached devices.
Verify t hat proper net work cable t ype is used and it s lengt h does not exceed 100 m et ers. For

The PoE LED is off and/ or power is not being supplied t o m y PoE- enabled device. ( For
GS1100- 8HP and GS1100- 10HP)
Check t o see t hat t he power adapt or is securely co nnect ed t o t he GS1100- 8HP ( or GS1100-
10HP) and an appropriat e power source. Make sure t he power source is on and funct ioning
properly.
Check t hat t he Et hernet cables are connect ed prop erly and t hat you are using t he correct t ype of
Et hernet cable. Cont act your local dist ribut or if t he problem persist s.
