The Switch should be wall-mounted horizontally. The Switch's side
panels with ventilation slots should not be facing up or down as this
position is less safe.

2.3.2 Rack Mounting

The Swit ch can be m ount ed on an EI A st andard size, 19- inch rack or in a wiring closet wit h ot her
equipm ent . Follow t he st eps below t o m ount your Swit ch on a st andard EI A rack using a rack-
m ount ing kit .
Rack-mounted Installation Requirements
• Two m ount ing bracket s.
• Eight M3 flat head screws and a # 2 Philips screwdr i ver.
• Four M5 flat head screws and a # 2 Philips screwdri v er.
Failure to use the proper screws may damage the unit.
Precautions
• Make sure t he rack will safely support t he com b ined weight of all t he equipm ent it cont ains.
• Make sure t he posit ion of t he Swit ch does not m ake t he rack unst able or t op- heavy. Take all
necessary precaut ions t o anchor t he rack securely before inst alling t he unit .
Attaching the Mounting Brackets to the Switch
1 Posit ion a m ount ing bracket on one side of t he Swit ch, lining up t he four screw holes on t he bracket
wit h t he screw holes on t he side of t he Swit ch.
