  • Page 11 CONNECTING THE POWER PACK Plugs Into Standard AC Outlet The power pack is a fully modular device that provides the power source to the 3002CID telephone. To install, simply plug the power pack into a standard 110V AC power outlet. 110V AC Power A mounting hole is provided to secure the power pack to the AC outlet.
  • Page 12 “PHONE”. IMPORTANT! Line Cord The 3002CID will not function if the line cord connections are not correct. If the LCD display does not activate upon installation, make sure that the telephone line cord connections are not reversed (“LINE”/”PHONE”).

    CALLER ID (CID) DISPLAY The 3002CID is equipped with Type I Caller ID technology that will display the name and telephone number of an incoming caller. The Caller ID feature will work only if you subscribe with your local telephone company to Caller ID service and if your PBX telephone system is equipped to pass the Caller ID information from the telephone line(s) to the guest room.

    GUEST SERVICES DIRECTORY (Speed Dial Memory) The 3002CID includes an advanced feature where descriptive text can be programmed into memory to identify the guest service. This descriptive text will display when the speed dial key is pressed by the user. For example, if a guest service key is programmed to access the front desk, “FRONT DESK”...

Each speed dialing/guest service key can be programmed with the speed dialing number and the guest services text description. NOTE: Programming is performed with the handset unit “on-hook”.

    MESSAGE WAITING FEATURE The 3002CID telephone is equipped to support Neon or LED Message Waiting Systems: . The Message Waiting System (MW) is pre-set to the LED position. When a Message Waiting (MW) signal is received from the PBX or your local telephone provider, the MW signal lights the red indicator located on the telephone.

    TouchLite FEATURE PROGRAMMING FEATURE DESCRIPTION TouchLite is a new innovation that integrates the visual message waiting lamp and a speed dial button, all in one. It allows easy access for guests to retrieve messages. The message-waiting lamp illuminates to notify the guest that a message is waiting. A simple press of the red TouchLite key connects the guest to the message center or front desk.
  • Page 24 PROGRAMMING SPEED DIAL FEATURE DESCRIPTION Depending on your model 3002CID configuration, either 5 or 10 phone numbers can be stored into speed dial memory for automatic dialing of frequent phone numbers. Each location can store up to 24 digits. Programming Speed Dial Memory 1.

  • Page 26 PROGRAMMING PAUSE Programming A Pause into Memory A multiple of 3.6 second pauses can be programmed into the speed dial memory. This function allows the user to delay the dialing pattern of a number. This function may be required for accessing line features provided by your telephone system or local telephone company.

  • Page 28 LINE SELECTION KEYS The 3002CID feature state-of-the art “soft” key technology. Line 1 is designed as the primary line. When calls are answered or placed, a simple lift of the handset (or activate the speakerphone) will obtain line 1. Pre-pressing the line 1 key is NOT required on an incom- ing call.

  • Page 30 OPERATION USING THE MUTE FEATURE A “Mute” key is provided to allow privacy during a background conversation. When the “Mute” key is activated, the microphones in the handset and the speakerphone are disabled. When the IN USE RINGER/HOLD “Mute” feature is activated, the caller will not hear your voice.   • Page 31 OPERATION USING THE CONFERENCE KEY The “Conference” key is used to establish a 3- way conversation. The conference feature is activated by a “soft” key that will automatically reset when hanging up. FOR MESSAGES A 3-way “Conference” call can be established while using either the hand- set or Speakerphone.
  • Page 32 12 - 00 DATE TIME The 3002CID is equipped with a high quality speakerphone feature to allow for hands free operation. To use, simply press the “Speaker” key when placing or answering a call. The telephone line will activate Display is idle, on-hook status.
  • Page 33 OPERATION FLASH KEY The Flash function allows the user to dial a timed line break in the sequence of the dialing patterns when using the speed dial keys. This function may be required for accessing line features provided by your telephone system or local telephone company. The FLASH function is used to access PBX features or Telco line features such as Call Waiting.

  • Page 35 OPERATION HANDSET VOLUME CONTROL The 3002CID telephone is equipped with an ADA compliant handset volume control located on the face of the phone. When the “Volume” key is pressed, the volume of the handset receiver is increased by 12-15 decibels.
  • Page 36 OPERATION USING THE DATA PORT The 3002CID telephone is equipped with a convenient port on the right side of the base unit. This modular receptacle is used to plug in any standard telephone device such as a computer modem, answering machine or fax machine.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE Keep the telephone dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Use and store the telephone only in normal temperature environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts.
