foreign material. This is important,
otherwise,
mixture distribution
will be
affected.
The two
air cleaners
and
duct assembly
arc
shown
removed in
(fig. 70)
for illustrative purposes.
I. With the
ignition
off, loosen the three throttle lever
shaft adjusting screws
"A"
so there is no tension
on
the
springs.

Loosen the screws

carburetor
shaft uni·
versal couplings
located at the
forward
end of the rear
carburetor
aod the forward
end of
the
center
carburetor.

Snap accelerator
pedal
linkage

several
times to
allow the couplings to seek their natural position so
there is no end pressure
on
the tbroule valves, then
tighten the two coupling
screws tlB"
.
4. Loosen the two AUeo head
screws "0"
at the front
end
of
the rear carburetor
and
manually close the
throttle valve in rear carburetor. Hold valve tightly
closed and tighten the two Allen head screws
un".
5.
Loosen the two Allen head screws
"E"
at front end of
cenler carburetor and manually close throttle valve of
fronl carburetor. Hold valve tighlly closed and tighten
the two Allen head screws
ICE".
6. Tum the center carburetor lhrottle
shaft
adjusting
screw"
AU all
the way in then back it off
approximately
2 turns.
7. Turn the idle mixture adjustment
screws "F"
on each
carburetor all the way in, lightly comacting the seat,
lhen back off I full lum.
CAUTION: To prevent
scoring
or grooving of the
adjusting screw needles, do not
lUTD
SCrews in too tightly.
8. Start the engine and run it until it is thoroughly
warmed up. Make sure lhat the hand
choke
control
